Project4-Jeff C.

Project 4

My favorite tweening type involves the motion tween and the motion presets. I decided I wanted my alien to be beamed up into the spaceship and the presets made it very easy to get the effect I wanted.

The biggest problem I had using the tweening is getting the motion tween to start at just the time I want to and have the object in a specific place the rest of the time. I have not figured out how to move the tween start to the exact place that I want. I've had to adjust all of the other objects timelines to work around the start and stop/length to compensate.

I used onion skinning briefly when I was syncing the spaceship, beam, and the alien tweens so that I could time them all correctly and see the motion as a still.

The nested animation is the alien's arm waving as it is about to beamed up. This took a while to get right but it assisted me because otherwise it would have been very difficult to get the arm to wave while having the alien beam up. I would have had to create two motion tweens for both the alien and the arm to beam both up and have the arm waving simultaneously... at least I think I could have done this some how.

I used easing for a few shooting stars to have the alpha go to 100% as they reach the horizon. Also for the glow effect on other stars. On both the moon and the stars I used the glow filter. On the text I used the glow filter and the blur blend. I was going to use the alpha and blur tools on the alien when it was beamed up but I didn't have to because the preset took care of that for me.

I had issues (unresolved) with creating the text (TFT) that I could use 3d motions with because for some reason I can't publish it to a .swf file... I also found it extremely frustrating as mentioned above making the placement of the tweens at just the right spots in the timeline. This was almost impossible to get past and even now I'm not happy with the way it turned out because I couldn't figure out how to change the length of the static object once the motion tween was included on the timeline. Moving the tween and changing the length was easy.

Carlos Rodriguez Project 4

Project 4

My favorite tweening part was just trying the different types of motions and previewing them until I found one that I liked. My favorite part of this module was creating the different types of motions.

I had some trouble creating the motions and making them the way I thought of them in my head. I also had trouble using the onion skinning. It was frustrating at times because the motion wouldn't do what I wanted it to do but it just takes more practice.

I tried using onion skinning in this project but I couldn't get it to work correctly or I was just doing it completely wrong.

I used the plane for the nesting. I didnt find that many challenges in it.

I used the slow motion tween for my motion.

I didn't run into problems using the 3d tool. It was pretty easy.

I did the best that I could in the project but I feel like I might of missed a few things. I still have trouble using the motion timeline but I feel that with more practice it will start making more sense. I still have trouble knowing when I want something to come in and when I want something to end.

  • My favorite tween was the motion tween. I liked it because it gave me more control on exactly what i wanted to do. My biggest challenge was getting my fade in and outs the exact way i wanted them.
  • I'm not good at onion skinning yet. I want to practice more of this on my own. I just went out and bought the creative suite so that i can start practicing at home more.
  • I used my aliens arm and hand for my nesting. I found no challenges on this part.
  • I used the pre-set easing for my motion tween.
  • I played with the alpha settings on my alien tween and i put in a 3D blur for my secret door tween.
  • I ran into no 3D animation issues. This seems to be the easiest task for me so far.
  • I really liked this project. I feel that with each project I'm truly obtaining more flash skills. This project had me so interested in learning more and more, that I actually went and bought adobe CS5 so that i can have more time at home to spend on future projects. This project took me longer than any other one so far so I figured I should prepare myself that future projects will take some serious time...so I'm glad to say that i now own flash at home :)

Project 4

My favorite tweening type would probably be regular "create a motion tween"-ing, because it's so simple and fast, and I like messing with 3D rotation the most of all the different kinds of position change. The funnest part of the module is probably the nested animation stuff, because I know it's going to be useful when creating more realistic animations, since real motion isn't usually just one action and direction. It gets me excited about what I'll be able to do in the future.

Once again, I got stuck for a minute on the classic motion tween because the guide layer got me mixed up. It's just kind of weird having different layers that are represented on the timeline the same way, but the user having to interact with them differently. I'm getting used to it, though. Most of the other tweening tools were pretty intuitive and didn't prove to be a challenge.

I used onion-skinning for the gunfire coming from the helicopter a bit. It was definitely helpful because I could focus on the gunfire, but still see the placement of the helicopter in the background. It'll be more important when I try more complicated frame-by-frame animation, but I can already see the uses.

I used nested animation on my alien, so that he would appear to be either careening or stomping as he moves across the skyline. It's admittedly a pretty simple animation that didn't prove to be a problem.

I used easing on the piece of building that falls to the ground from the fire. I simply made it speed up (on the y-axis change), so that it looked like it was gaining speed as it fell.

I used a couple of filters on the 3D text animation. I used a slight "bevel" to give the words some depth. I also used "blur", which was applied as part of the tween along with the 3D position change. I started the text out heavily blurred and made it go sharp by the end of the movie (in about the same fashion as the book lesson's "woman" graphic).

I didn't have any issues using the 3D rotation tool. It's actually easier to use than a lot of the seemingly simpler tools in Flash. Keeping the turns smooth and running them for the right amount of time takes a little concentration, but it's mostly pretty easy.

This project was pretty fun, because we're learning a lot of new stuff and getting more creative control.

Project 4 - Samuel Cohoon

The Project

  • What was your favorite tweening type? What did you enjoy most in this module?
Motion tweening, primarily because it was the easiest. My favorite part of module/project was that we were given 'artistic freedom', and we could throw whatever we wanted on the stage o apply the tweens/animations to.
  • What challenges did you have using the various tweening tools?
The only challenge that I faced when getting to know the tweening tools was when trying to get a classic tween to follow a motion path., and the only reason that was hard was because my tween was of a large symbol that was mostly empty, transparent space...
  • Did you use onion skinning to assist with your frame-by-frame animation? How did you feel it assisted you?
I decided to go through the Frame-by-Frame process to create an animation that would look 10 times better as a motion tween (and take way less time). Why? I don't know, I needed something to do. Now, to answer the question, I did use the onion skin and it helped bundles. Onion skinning allowed me to place parts of my aliens anatomy just perfectly over the last layer so that the animation was somewhat fluid.
  • Which symbol did you use in the nested animation? What challenges did you have creating it?
I used the shootingstar symbol to create the nested animation. The comet moves across the sky and also changed color (the color change is the nested animation). This process seemed really straight forward to me; I didn't have any problems with it.
  • What easing did you use for your motion tween?
I used ease once, and it was the 'stop and start (fastest)' preset. I used it on the comet just so that the nested animation would be visible, it made my life easier.
  • What filters or blend modes did you use? Please identify the tween that you applied these modification.
I used a blur filter and an alpha color effect to make my alien disappear into space. At first I just threw a
  • Did you have any issues using the 3-D tool to create your animation?
It seemed that, at times, the 3-D tool wouldn't show up on the stage when i clicked on it; but I was always allowed to edit the 3-d settings in the transform window... so it worked out.

Project3 - Jeff C.

Project 3-1

Project 3-2

I think my favorite Flash feature from this module would have to be the 3d transform tool. When used in conjuction with gradient fills (to simulate light reflection) or with blending tools you can give many more objects the appearance of being 3 dimensional.

I like messing around in photoshop so the image that I used for my background was a PS image. It was easy and clean to change the file size in PS and then import it into Flash.

I'm not sure exactly how I will manage my symbol library in the future. I don't completely understand how the storage of your symbols works so I am making it a point to ask this tomorrow in class. However I haven't encountered any issues or challenges when creating or editing symbols. Sometimes I forget that if you have two of the same symbol on the stage and you alter the original, it will apply to both unless you turn one of them into a different symbol.

The 3d tools allow for different orientation and angle of objects and text, creating depth in the animation. I'm sure that this will be used a lot in future projects.

Project 3 - Kellie

Project 3-1

Project 3-2

What was your favorite feature of Flash presented in this Module? Why?
I enjoyed the text features. You can do some neat things with the 3D aspects.

Describe your experience importing bitmap and Photoshop images. What was your impression of the results of using the trace bitmap feature?
Importing images in Flash was very easy-- not complicated, and quite fast. Although we didn't use it, I also like the fact that importing Photoshop and Illustrator files gives the option of keeping layers separated rather than automatically merging them together.

How will you manage your symbol library in the future?
Folders, folders, and more folders. :) It keeps things nicely organized.

What challenges did your encounter creating and editing symbols?
For whatever reason, whenever I tried to convert my alien into a symbol on this new project, it would switch up the layers of the different body parts and things would awkwardly overlap. This confused me for a good fifteen minutes or so until I realized I needed to group the alien on the original file before moving it over. Oops.

Discuss which filters and blend modes you used in your project.
I mainly changed the tints of my aliens and the color schemes.

How will you use the 3D tools in your future projects?
Not exactly sure yet. However, it's definitely useful to know how to use, and I'm sure I'll use it at some point or another. It has promise of adding certain aesthetic appeal if a project calls for it.

Carlos Rodriguez 3-2

Project 3-2

My favorite part of this module was saving things as symbols because it makes it easier to use them again.

I liked the bitmap because you could modify it really easy once it was traced.

I will use my symbols a lot in the future. I think if i put them into folders it will makes things organized.

I had trouble editing my alien as a symbol. For some reason I was unable to change the color how I wanted.

I used the alpha color change in this module

I liked the 3d tool because you can create really cool font with it,

Austin Taylor Project 3

Project3-1
Project3-2

What was your favorite feature of Flash presented in this Module? Why?

That fact that you can save a image as a symbol for later use. Hey, anything I have to do one less time is a plus.
Describe your experience importing bitmap and Photoshop images. What was your impression of the results of using the trace bitmap feature?
I like it because you can modify it once it is traced.
How will you manage your symbol library in the future?
I will Manage it by putting symbols in folders.
What challenges did your encounter creating and editing symbols?
The colors of my alien did not come with the symbol at first. I had to go in and group them and save them out as a symbol.

Discuss which filters and blend modes you used in your project.
Adjust Color and Drop Shadow, I wanted to make him seem that he has a cloaking device on.
How will you use the 3D tools in your future projects?
most definitely will use again

Project 2 Austin

What challenges did you experience using the drawing tools? Which drawing types did you prefer?
The drawing tools were alright, same as in Photoshop. The layers were always be the hard part in my mind.

What deco tools did use? Were you able to create the objects you wanted?
I like the deco tool, when it comes to grass and fire, I will use it everytime. I used the Grass and Tree Deco Tool.

What did you draw using the pen tool?
The Boulders mostly, I use it for the grass too.

Please describe how you created your alien.

I use the brush tool, I like to free hand drawing and this as close as you get. I also used the eyedropper tool.

Link

Please discuss how the layer order and folder management assisted you in managing your project.
The folder is nice just to know that all of the layers are in a folder and cannot be changed unless folder is open.

Project 1 Austin

What challenges did you experience using the Flash interface?
Not using the frames right, meaning by The blank and Key Frames using them to stop and play at the right time.

How does Flash compare to new programs that you used in the past?
Flash is simpler to use than Photoshop, I believe. I have only use paint in the past and this blows it out of the water.

What do you hope to do with Flash in the future?
Yes, hopefully to do some animation in the future.

Project 3 - Craig Phillips

Project 3-1

I think my favorite new-ish feature presented in the 3rd lesson was the 3D rotation tool. I can tell it'll be fun to animate text in some interesting ways in the future.

Importing different images from Photoshop or otherwise was pretty easy. I like the trace bitmap option, but altering it too much causes my computer to slow way down. It's something that I won't be able to fully utilize until I upgrade probably.

Folders would be the easiest way to organize symbols in the library. For a small project, I would just divide them up by category, but a hierarchy of folders may be necessary for projects with a large number of symbols.

I didn't hit too many snags with creating or editing the symbols, except for the positioning, as I had some trouble snapping the symbols to the ruler guide. Still don't know why this was the case, but I managed to lay the symbols in the right spot anyway.

I changed the "alpha" in project 3-1, which wasn't super-interesting, but it'll definitely be nice in future projects with transition animations. I used dropshadow on the text in both the book lesson and project 3-2. That kind of thing can be overused sometimes, but it was fun messing around with it anyway.

The 3D tools will definitely be a big help in animation later on. Controlling movement of the text and creating depth already gets me thinking about quick flash animations for intro pages to web sites.

Project 3 (Casper)

Project 3 (alien) Project 3 (star and 3D ball)

  • My favorite feature was being able to import a bitmap to my stage...this makes my mind think of many things i would like to be able to learn and do with flash in the future...such as take pictures of my favorite places and create movies with them. Fun!

  • I was having a hard time figuring out how to convert my landscape image to a bitmap...but once the instructor showed me...i went to the computer lab and had tons of fun using the trace bitmap feature with many different images until i found the perfect one for my project. I completed my project but didn't turn it in yet until today because i wanted to get better at importing, the trace bitmap feature, and resizing...so i pracvticed the last few days and when i felt comfortable...i redid my project. this was a good exercise for me.

  • Making sure that i have everything organized in folders. very important...especially when you start getting tons and tons of symbols in your library. folders make everything easier and more organized.

  • In this particular project...i really only questioned whether or not my ball looked 3D...i messed around with it for awhile until i felt satisfied with it. I'm learning that the more i sit myself down at the computer lab and just mess around and play...the more i'm not only becoming more comfortable with the tools but the more questions i have with what i'm going to be able to learn next to expand such projects.

  • I adjusted the alpha in color effects, i also used the gradient transform tool, i messed around with the blur filter a little bit as well. I used the #d tools for my text as well to adjust it just the way i wanted it to be hovering over my alien.

  • Oooooh...i love the 3D tools. hmmmm...good question. i want to create a project where everything in it has two sides to it...a surface simple aspect and then show it's intensity with it's 3D side. I look forward to creating more things with the 3D tools.

Project#3 - Samuel Cohoon

  • My favorite feature in this module would have to be the 3d rotation tool. Why? cause there is something very empowering about altering the dimensions that control our plane of existence, or somethin.
  • Importing was a breeze with the features in Flash. The ability to choose the layers that you will import to the stage and then whether or not to make it a symbol is fantastic. Sure does save a lot of time.
  • Folders, upon folders, upon folders.
  • Actually, none. I found that the whole process was very intrinsic.
  • I used glow for my text. It's black, as is the background, so I had to create a white glow so that it was visible against the cosmos. I also used the darken blending mode on my alien to create a somewhat translucent effect.
  • Positioning, of course. I especially love that Z-ed axis; moving things along the 3rd dimension is exhilarating...

Project 2

  • The problem I faced with the drawing tool is, I messed up using the the line tool instead a brush to make my aliens antenna, needed help figuring out how to change the color :( I really enjoying playing with the shapes (distorting and transforming them) there is so many options.

  • I used the winter icicle deco tool to make my space tree, I really enjoyed this part because I could imagine myself trying to draw a try on my own.

  • Yes, I used the pen tool to draw all my boulders, I think they turned out great :)

  • I used the pen tool to draw my aliens head and arms, used a rectangle for the body and stretched the corners, and circles for his feet.

  • The layer is always tricky for me, I learned a good lesson here I hid all my layers so i was able to see my alien. I ended up having to delete him all together and start him on new project and bring him in.

What was your favorite feature of Flash presented in this Module? Why?
- 0_o im not really sure.

Describe your experience importing bitmap and Photoshop images. What was your impression of the results of using the trace bitmap feature?
- It went pretty well. The hardest part of that was probably opening my jpg and resaving it as a psd but even that took about a minute at most xD

And i really have no idea how i will use any of this in my future projects.

Project 2 - Kellie

Project #2

What challenges did you experience using the drawing tools? Which drawing types did you prefer?

I didn't really experience too many challenges with any of the drawing tools. Everything (especially the alien) was mainly more time-consuming than difficult. I enjoyed using the pen tool and the shape tools... sometimes in conjunction with the brush tool to fill in any spots or smooth corners that I couldn't fix otherwise.

What deco tools you did use? Were you able to create the objects you wanted?

I only used the deco tool to make the tree... other than that, I didn't use it at all, mainly because I found it a bit frustrating to try and create a tree, etc, exactly how I wanted. In the end I was able to make a tree that I liked (after countless, epic battles with the ctrl+z keys and re-drawing until it ended up looking right).

What did you draw using the pen tool?

I used the pen tool for creating the boulders and certain parts of my alien ( the tail, the tongue, claws, arms, and other stuff that I can't really remember).

Please describe how you created your alien.

Looots and looots of time! And looots of layers (probably more than I needed, but oh well)! But really, mainly just using the shape tools to create a base to work with and then altering them around with the selection tools. Filling in with gradients to add depth, and using the pen tool to create shapes that I couldn't with the regular shape tools.

Please discuss how the layer order and folder management assisted you in managing your project.

It was helpful. :) I'm used to using layers and keeping the order neat so things don't overlap strangely and won't get lost too easily in a cluttered mess, but before this project I hadn't really ever used folders before. It was extremely nice to be able to keep certain aspects of the project together in one place so things don't get mixed up (and being able to collapse a folder to hide the layers inside is awesome as well). It made managing all the project layers so much easier.

Project 2 - Josh Landis

Project 2!

What challenges did you experience using the drawing tools? Which drawing types did you prefer?
- Coloring was a little time consuming 0_o
What deco tools did use? Were you able to create the objects you wanted?
-The tree!, More or less. Its a little difficult to make the tree do exactly what you want but it was in the project requirements so eh.
What did you draw using the pen tool?
- My alien
Please describe how you created your alien.
- I mostly used the pen tool.(somehow i feel like i just said this)
Please discuss how the layer order and folder management assisted you in managing your project.
- 0_o As always. The layers were extremely helpful. It also helped to lock down any layer not currently in use.(isn't it annoying when you end up erasing/moving things on a totaly different layer?)

Project #2 - Samuel Cohoon

  • My most difficult experience during this project would have to be getting the anatomy of my alien as close to perfect (that i can accomplish...) as possible, and even then it looks strange. At first my guy was sitting on one of the rocks that I had made, but the legs proved to be too difficult to model; I then moved onto, and stuck with, a standing up/pointing pose, as if the alien man from a certain red planet is thinking "We don't have trees on this planet" and then "How do I know what a tree is if we don't have them on my planet?"
  • I used the deco tool to create the tree and it's (nonmatching) shadow. It was a quick and efficient use of my time that created a decent end result. I can definitely see myself using the Deco Tool in the future, no matter how unethical it is!
  • Having used the pen tool in Photoshop -it works the exact same way- I didn't have a too hard of a time with it, other than the normal computer issues.
  • I used then pen tool a lot... alien, rocks, mountains; you name it.
  • It was amazing. Definitely makes it a lot easier to manage the different layers, colors, lines, and groups that you might have on your stage. Also, groups are fantastic! I couldn't have made my alien (j'onn j'onzz for those who recognized him) without the help of grouping all the bits that made him what he is.
Also, why is it that strokes look much larger when you are not zoomed in on them. May seem like a dumb question, but as soon as you zoom out it's like they jump from .10 o 2.0. Right click and select 'zoom in' on your project inside firefox (or whatever browser you use) and see if you get the same result. Thanks.

Carlos Rodriguez Project 2

Project 2

Question 1: The most challenging part for me was using the eraser tool to create the mountains and to delete the sky/ground boundary. I had trouble with this because in the beginning I didn't change my stage color to brown so when I erased it was erasing white, not brown. After I changed the stage to brown it all worked out fine.

Question 2. I only used the deco tool for the trees. And yes I was able to create the objects that I wanted.

Question 3. I used the pen tool to draw my boulders then I used the sub selection tool to change the shape of all 3 boulders.

Question 4. I created my alien with the oval tool. I basically created an oval for the head, body, arms, and legs. Then I just changed the shape with the sub selection tool. I kept changing the shape of the head until it looked somewhat alien like.

Question 5. The layer order and folder management assisted me in manageging my project because it made everything a lot more organized especially since there was so many layers in this project.

Sunday, April 10, 2011

Project 2 - Craig Phillips

Project 2

1. I didn't experience a lot of problems with the drawing tools, but when I was getting frustrated, it was almost always with the pen tool. It kept extending the lines in completely different directions than I was clicking. I didn't find a solution to this. I just think it's not a super-intuitive tool for (maybe new?) users. I preferred the paint brush and shape tools for creating new objects.

2. I just used the tree deco tool, I believe. I was able to create the tree I wanted with it. Deco tools are pretty easy to use and look good for the most part.

3. The main thing I drew with the pen tool was my alien. It was a pain in the backside because of the problem I mentioned in question 1. When I was drawing the legs and body, it kept extending the line to a position that I hadn't clicked on. If there's a simple fix that I'm not considering, somebody please call me out.

4. I created my alien by outlining it with the pen tool, filling it with a small radial gradient of two aquamarine-ish colors and adding eyes and a "mouth". The eyes were just made with the oval tool with a slight radial gradient fill and more black ovals for the pupils. The spiny mouth is a 10- or 12-point star (from the polystar tool).

5. Manipulating the folder and layers within and without was really easy to understand and helpful in organization. I used the lock function for the different layers often, to be sure not to select things from other layers.

Project2 - Jeff C.

Project 2

I didn't really face any challenges in this project other than trying to not be too obsessed with whether something looked exactly as I wanted it. I did have one problem that took a little time to sort out. I drew the sky layer with the primitive rectangle tool. Then when I went to use the eraser tool to blend the layers it wouldn't erase to show the stage color. So I just had to redraw the sky layer with the regular rectangle tool. When drawing the alien I decided to use the polygon and circle tool instead of the pen tool. The primary reason is because I like the way the shapes modify more than the way a pen created polygon modifies the corners and sides.

The only deco tool I got a chance to use was the tree deco tool. I tried to use the vine deco tool to make the limbs of my alien, but didn't like how it turned out so I used the line tool instead.

I still don't like the pen tool. Not because of how it puts shapes together but how the anchor point modifies the shape. The 'lever' like tool never helps me get the shape I'm looking for. But I did draw the boulders with the pen tool, and they turned out alright.

To create my alien I started with the oval tool and used the free transform, selection, and sub-selection tools to shape it. I used the oval tool for both parts of the eyes as well, and to shape the reflection on the eyes I used the free transform, selection and sub-selection tools. The neck was done with the line tool, as were the limbs (transformed using the selection tool). The torso was done with the polygon tool and and modified using the transform and selection tools.

The folders helped me to keep related layers together in order and in a sort of group, without grouping the objects. Also because I was working on a 13 inch macbook pro it helped me to see more layers on my workspace timeline than I would otherwise be able to.

  • i created my alien using shapes and changing them, the pen tool, and the paint brush, i also used the pencil tool for his feet.

What challenges did I face?

I actually thought it was easy because the book gave really good instructions for the lesson plan so I just followed similar steps for the project.

What Programs have I used like Flash?

This was nothing like anything that I have ever used. The hardest program I have used before was Access, and they are completely different programs.

What to learn with flash?

I just want to be familiar with the program and make small movies like the ones that we have been doing in class.

Project 1 - Kellie

What challenges did you experience using the Flash interface?
Not too many. Mainly just remembering the difference between inserting a frame and inserting a keyframe... I got those two mixed up quite a few times.

How does Flash compare to new programs that you used in the past?
It doesn't seem too similar to any other program I've used before, though the overall interface design is pretty much just like most other Adobe interface designs.

What do you hope to do with Flash in the future?
I'm hoping to be able to make animations and possibly even games (though they probably won't be too intricate as of yet).

Project 1 - Dakota Young

The biggest challange I faced with flash was getting the time line to work. I'm very unfamilar with this part of editing so I really struggled with it. It has a very flashly interface that makes it fun to do the project. I really look forward to using the animation aspect of the class.

Dakota's Project

Project1 - Jeff C.

Want S'more?

What challenges did I experience using Flash?

There were three issues that come to mind that gave me a bit of grief while building this first animation. The first was that it seemed a bit difficult to get just the right frames filled (or empty). This was more an annoyance than a real problem. The second was that the text options seemed to be rather limited, as my photos and background had a range of colors from bright to dark, it was hard to find a placement and text format that allowed the text to be clearly visible through the entire animation. Third, and this I was not able to resolve, no matter what I did I could not get the animation to not loop in the .swf file. I made sure that loop was unchecked under the 'control' menu and also in publish settings, but still when the file is accessed through the sws server it plays a constant loop.

How did Flash compare to new programs I've used in the past?

I would find it difficult to compare this program to others I've used in the past such as MS Office. However I'm currently learning Dreamweaver and a little bit of Photoshop, and so far I have to say that Flash seems like the least intuitive out of the three, and the one that requires the most work that could be described as...tedious. However, I am an extreme novice and I'm sure it will get easier with practice.

What do I hope to do with Flash in the future?

Well I found out last night that the website functions I wanted to learn how to complete in Flash, are actually built with Spry in Dreamweaver. So I suppose what I really want to learn in Flash is not so much how to build animations, but any functions of the program that would make sense to incorporate into a professional site for any industry. That could be an animation, but I'm not an instinctively artistic individual. I think I would like to learn the interactive capabilities of Flash, if there are any.

The Falls

  • What challenges did you experience using the Flash interface?
None, really. I've used several programs that liken to Flash so i'm not having a hard time getting accustomed to the interface.
  • How does Flash compare to new programs that you used in the past?
It is very much like Photoshop -duh- and just as overwhelming as 3ds max/maya, UI wise. There are lots of buttons and i'm going to enjoy learning what they all do.
  • What do you hope to do with Flash in the future?
It would be fun to make a little cracker-jack game or even incorporate something that i've created into a website for a friend. I think it will be easier to answer that question once i've learned a little bit more about the program and what it is capable of.

Help!

I cant seem to figure out how to put my project on the blog. I guess I don't know how to find the URL of my project to post it on the blog.

Thanks

  • I didn't face any challenges during this project.

  • The Flash interface is very similar to Dreamweaver.

  • I'm hoping to be able to make short animations in the future.

What challenges did you experience using the Flash interface?
Cant say that i really had any this time.
How does Flash compare to new programs that you used in the past?
0_o well the interface similar to other adobe products but. Thats about it.
What do you hope to do with Flash in the future?
I will use it to reach my ultimate goal of world domination.... No... Not really.... but chances are i will mainly use it for web design unless i randomly feel like making something for the fun of it.(and who knows that may become its primary use but seeing as i just started using it i really don't know)

Project 1 - Craig Phillips

Book Lesson 1:

Camping Time:

1. This first lesson didn't have too many challenges. I had read the lesson all the way through (had too much time on campus) before I had even started the book lesson. Once I had finished the book lesson, I felt as if I had already done the Module 1 project twice. I suppose the only thing that threw me a couple of times was not having the right layer selected, so the correct options wouldn't show up.

2. It is a little comparable to Dreamweaver, which I used a little in high school. The timeline and much of the properties options reminded me of it, and I have used a small bit of Flash before.

3. In the future, I'm hopefully going to use Flash to make some short but interesting animations and/or small, simple games to play. Splash pages to web sites may be fun to do, as well.
