Project 6-1
Project 6-2
I should have a disclaimer for my Project 6-2. I procrastinated and right when I should've posted both projects, ran into trouble with the code for my url link. I'll replace the link once I fix this.
How does the design of your buttons direct the user to know what button to click?
I made the buttons painfully obvious. Simple button shapes with a matching color scheme to most of the rest of the movie were what I opted for. I might've made more complex, interesting buttons, but the small stage size for my midterm wouldn't have been appropriate with buttons like that.
What state did you add the animated movie clip? What challenges did you experience?
I haven't added it yet, as my project is already late, but I'd like to use a little alpha fade or maybe even a gradient shimmer across the buttons in the over state.
How does the design of your buttons relate your user's experience?
I just stuck with the same theme, colors, and font as the rest of the movie, to make it blend in and still be really obvious and easy to use.
What challenges and benefits did you experience when adding actionscript to your movie?
The benefits are that the user now as more control over the movie and doesn't have to be annoyed by something looping over and over. It shouldn't have been challenging, but I did have problems with my "stars" link button. If I had managed my time better, I definitely would troubleshoot it.
I think the main lesson I took away from this project was to manage a project better time-wise, since this is something that would be frustrating for small, personal projects, and completely unacceptable if this were a professional setting.
