Project 8
How did Sound improve your movie result? If sound did not improve the movie, why not?
I don't think it really improved the movie for two reasons. One, the movie was only two seconds long and thus there wasn't much time for sound to make much of an impact. Two, I couldn't find any sound that was really suitable.
When including sound, what do you need to be aware of to optimize your movie? What program did you use to modify your audio file?
You need to be aware of the sound file length in comparison to your movie length. If it's a lot longer than the movie then it will take up more bandwidth regardless of how long the movie plays. Using Audacity can help shorten sound files.
What were your intentions in creating your masks? Did you achieve these goals?
I just wanted to create simple motion tweens with the objects. Yes, I achieved that goal.
Did you think the stop at the end of the movie will improve the users experience?
Yes, because repeating movies can get really irritating after a while. (:
What challenges and benefits did you experience using sound and masks to your movie?
I didn't encounter many challenges with either, but I can see where masks and sound can be used to really enhance aspects of movies/animations.
Please note your SWF history as your add your masks and sound. Please note the size of your swf file each time you add each element: the sound, and each mask. We will discuss this in class.
