How did sound improve your movie?
I feel like the sound completed the entire movie...it brought it all together and helped it make more sense,
When including sound, what do you need to be aware of to optimize your movie? What program did you use to modify your audio file?
The length of the sound clip and the quality of it. I was first editing mp3's in audacity and found myself getting sucked in and spending a lot of time with that...I ultimately ended up using a library sound and then envelope editing it in flash.
What were your intentions in creating your masks? Did you achieve these goals?
My intentions were to have the alien and text appear and disappear when coming into and out of the scenery. Yes, I achieved this goal...but I also want to spend more time with creating different kinds of masks. I also wanted to have my background showing through a messy outline while moving...this was my favorite part.
Did you think the stop at the end of the movie will improve the users experience?
Yes, because I think that if the ladies laugh was to continue any longer...it would be annoying.
What challenges and benefits did you experience using sound and masks to your movie?
This project was a challenge for me throughout most of it. It actually took me seven hours to complete...which I feel was way too much time to spend on it. When I got towards the end of it...I realized that I was making the masking part way harder than it needed to be. The benefit is that i now know how to edit and import sounds.
Please note your SWF history as your add your masks and sound. Please note the size of your swf file each time you add each element: the sound, and each mask. We will discuss this in class.
Each time i added something it showed the time and size of my history...and the size got bigger and bigger. 828.9 ---->838.5
