- How did Sound improve your movie result? If sound did not improve the movie, why not?
The sound adds depth to the MC, without it i would have a bland animation with a flying jet and a charming, cartoonish explosion. The sounds immerse the viewer in a world of special effects and beauty that they would have missed other wise.
- When including sound, what do you need to be aware of to optimize your movie? What program did you use to modify your audio file?
Audacity. It's a great, light program, that i am familiar with. So, why not use it?
- What were your intentions in creating your masks? Did you achieve these goals?
My intentions were to add a 3rd dimension to this animation by masking the backdrop of a bitmap. The mountains/sign serve as focal points that help the viewer gauge their location on the spatial plane. Thus, adding dimension.
- Did you think the stop at the end of the movie will improve the users experience?
I wouldn't want that thing to loop. The noises are of a low quality, because i had to record them from a website with my mic. The animations are shoddy as well, but i wasn't going for quality, rather i was trying to show my aptitude with masks.
- What challenges and benefits did you experience using sound and masks to your movie?
My main challenge was getting the idea stuck in my head that the area you draw over is what is shown. I just feel like the colored area, or covered area, should be what is omitted. Like you are putting a mask over a certain spot... but i guess that's just me.
